Service Update: Advocacy

Due to an unprecedented demand for support, Amina MWRC has made the difficult decision to temporarily close referrals to our Sahara Scotland Domestic Abuse and Financial Advocacy services.
Since the beginning of 2025, our Sahara Scotland casework team has supported over 450 women, while our Financial Advocacy team has worked with more than 75 clients. These figures reflect not only the increasing need in our communities, but also the significant pressures on our staff and resources.
Amina MWRC is feeling the wider impact of the closure of other women’s domestic abuse services, alongside the rising risks of violence against women and girls. We remain deeply committed to providing high-quality, trauma-informed support, and this pause allows us to prioritise the wellbeing of the women currently in our care.
We are working hard to reopen referrals as soon as possible; we truly appreciate your patience, understanding and continued support during this time.
