Support and Advocacy

The Helpline has independent domestic abuse advocacy caseworkers who provide free confidential 1-to-1 support to women in need of support. We have specially trained staff with the knowledge and skills to offer consistent, safe and effective response to high risk victims of domestic abuse. We have supported over 85 women across Scotland with 1-to-1 casework services.

If you wish to refer someone to our casework service, please fill in the form below and email it to sahara@mwrc.org.uk.

Financial Advocacy

We offer Financial support and advice for women from all walks of life. We act as advocates in conversations with agencies like utility providers or local authorities, help women understand their financial rights, find or assist to make applications to benefits or grants, and administer Amina's own Hardship Fund for women experiencing financial crisis.

For further inquiries, contact our Helpline 0808 801 0301 or email finadvice@mwrc.org.uk.

Amina Hardship Fund

Amina Hardship Fund is for every woman. Many women need help which is not restricted by funding requirements, including women without recourse to public funds. For instance, if you are here in the UK on a spousal visa and experience domestic abuse, you will not be able to access a space in a women’s aid refuge. Amina’s Hardship Fund is unrestricted and can help women to live safer lives with support from this fund.

Amina’s Hardship Fund is a discretionary fund which uses public donations to help women in difficult circumstances. It goes towards providing women essentials such as food, warm clothing and emergency accommodation for women fleeing domestic abuse.

To apply for our Hardship Fund, please email finadvice@mwrc.org.uk.
