Welcome to
Amina - The Muslim Women's Resource Centre

Amina - The Muslim Women's Resource Centre (Amina MWRC) is an intersectional organisation, based in Scotland, that empowers and supports Muslim and Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) women by serving as a vital link between them and the barriers they face everyday.
We envision a world where Muslim and BME women are fulfilling their aspirations to the fullest.
In the UK, Muslim and BME women are one of the most disadvantaged groups with the poorest access to health, housing, and financial support, have the highest unemployment rates, and face discrimination on multiple levels because of their gender, ethnicity, and religion.
Our in-person services are by appointment only.
Face to face appointments are bookable through each service's sign up forms.

Amina – the Muslim Women’s Resource Centre provides 1-1 services to suit Muslim & BME women’s needs, alongside group events and activities.
The services, events and activities are delivered across Scotland, either online or in person. Services are developed in response to the needs of our service users, and currently include:
- a national Helpline providing a free & confidential culturally sensitive support service in areas including domestic abuse, mental health information, employability support, and visa issues
- telephone Befriending
- Sahara Scotland Domestic Abuse Advocacy support and information
- Financial Advocacy
- Employability Support
- Adult Learning classes and / or workshops
- Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) prevention work & campaigns
- weekly Creative Well-Being sessions for women in Glasgow and Dundee

"The Helpline has been my lifeline.
I look forward to speaking to someone who is actually listening to me."
"Thank you for inviting me to take part in this event, I was honoured to stand on stage and read the names of the women who lost their lives to honour-based abuse."
"Thank you for inviting me to the workshop today. I wasn't sure what to expect and I ended up learning a lot. I learned about confidence in trusting myself and let go of any pre-existing worries."
"Being elderly, I don’t have much to do. I enjoy all the different activities that take place at the creative well-being group. I always try to attend whatever they do because it feels good. If it weren’t for the activities, I would be lonely at home."
