Tell Her Story: Honour-Based Abuse

Tell Her Story is our partnership campaign with Glasgow Women's Library to raise awareness of honour-based abuse and remember the hidden victims whose stories are yet to be told.

We hosted two events in 2024 by the same title - one over the Summer, and the other during 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based-Violence at Tramway. Both events aimed to raise awareness of honour-based abuse, while highlighting instances of honour-based abuse that have gone unrecognised.

Our event during 16 Days featured keynote speaker Yasmin, mother of Fawziyah Javed, as well as a reading by Soma Devi from her book on honour-based abuse, The White Dove. The event also included our Say Her Name exhibition, a Memorial Walk organised by Syma Ahmed at GWL, and exclusive spoken word, Dear Parveen.
