As a Parenting Coach, Sumbla has some tips to help parents and children during lockdown:
- Stick to a routine with the children, involve them where you can In drawing up a daily schedule.
- Make time for physical play even if you can’t get out, – skipping jogging hopping can be done on the spot
- Organise snacks for each child in a small box or basket – this takes away the need of constantly providing snacks for the children, it also allows parents to keep a track on what type of food they are consuming.
- And finally practice time out for yourself. Even if it means a 20 minute break from the children whilst they are pre occupied in a self containing activity such as colouring, drawing, jigsaw making etc.
