Public Statement: Moving Beyond X in 2025

After years of building a community on X, we’ve made the decision to stop using the platform to post our updates. X has become increasingly toxic, with racism and anti-Muslim hate allowed to thrive, which goes against our values of inclusion and respect. Witnessing this has been deeply disheartening, and we can no longer engage with a space that normalises such hate.

Amina – the Muslim Women’s Resource Centre will no longer be active on X. While Twitter was once a collaborative space for networking and community engagement, the platform has deteriorated into a platform filled with anti-Muslim hate and racism. As Scotland’s leading women’s rights organisation for Muslim, Black & Minority Ethnic women, we remain true to our values of accountability, equity and integrity.
