2019 has been a year of many changes at Amina MWRC. This year marked our 21st anniversary as a registered charity. Samina Ansari, who was with Amina MWRC for 14 years, and in the role of CEO for over 3 years, moved on to another role at Children’s Hearing Scotland. We are grateful for her dedication and commitment to Amina MWRC during her time with us and wish her the best of luck in her new post.
We are very pleased to welcome our new CEO, Safia Ali, who took up the post on 1st August 2019. Safia comes to us with 22 years of experience working in the voluntary sector, working on issues such as race equality, health, parenting, housing, community development, domestic abuse, trauma/counselling, youth work, and group work/facilitation, predominantly with Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women.
We have also just welcomed a new Board – Chair, Sarah Todd, Vice Chair Manira Ahmed, Secretary Shaneela Afzal and Treasurer Neelum Zafar.
There are other exciting developments that have also been underway at Amina MWRC, as we continually work to progress as an organisation. These changes will be announced in the coming months. We thank all of our contributors, donors, partners, volunteers, service users and well-wishers for their ongoing support as our organisation continues to evolve.
