The Women’s Friendship Group is part of our Volunteer Development Programme (hyperlink to Employability page). The group is for Muslim and BME women living in or regularly travelling to Glasgow looking to make friends, learn new skills, and learn more about the city and communities around them.
The Friendship Group meets in person at Amina’s Glasgow Southside offices every 2 weeks, starting from Tuesday the 31st of May 2022.
If you’d like to register your interest in the group, please sign up here: https://forms.office.com/r/VHJFpuFiub
What can you expect from the Women’s Friendship Group?
The group is built around and informed by the interests of the women attending, with the overall goal to help women feel more confident, connected, and able to access opportunities in volunteering and beyond.
Once every 3 months, the Friendship Group will be invited to attend an outing. This could be a visit to an organisation in Glasgow to learn about their work (like the Hidden Gardens or the Govanhill Baths) or something a little further afield, like a trip to the Scottish Government!
The Women’s Friendship Group will also include opportunities to attend free skill building and training sessions, depending on what attendees are interested in. Examples are: food safety training; first aid training; craft workshops; and mental health sessions.
