‘I Speak for Myself’ is a national campaign empowering Muslim women to share personal messages with fellow Scots, so that together we can challenge misconceptions and the negative stereotyping of Muslim women.
Since 2012 we travelled across Scotland, running a series of curated roadshows from Dumfries to Elgin, and all major cities and towns in between, providing Muslim women with a platform to share their message via a portrait photograph which would then feature in a travelling exhibition, alongside hundreds of other Muslim women participants.
This exhibition celebrates and highlights the diversity of their experiences, lives and dreams, whilst creating an opportunity for dialogue and challenging prejudice, as a legacy of the campaign.
