Background – Helpline & Development Project
Amina MWRC is a national organisation which works with Muslim women by giving them opportunities to have their voices heard and to improve their skills and become more confident in participating in their own communities and wide.
The Helpline & Development project is a national project funded by the Scottish Government, delivering activities across the country. The project runs a national telephone helpline, which provides a listening ear & signposting service for Muslim women. The development part of the project focuses on tackling negative stereotyping of Muslim women through targeted campaigns, enabling Muslim women to have their voices heard.
What will the training sessions cover?
The training sessions will equip you with the necessary skills to allow you to effectively & confidently perform tasks as a helpline volunteer operator.
The sessions will cover:
• Confidentiality & boundaries
• Active listening
• Helpline Practice
• Reflective practice & supervision
